Objectives
After attending this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Discover about the latest technologies that can drive clinical effectiveness
  2. Examine which technologies are currently available or on the horizon and learn about outcomes of some technologies already in place
  3. Report on the current epidemiology in hepatitis C and review the current treatment options for hepatitis C
  4. Recognize the importance of routine HIV testing in Primary Care and who needs HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)
  5. Illustrate how to prescribe and follow patients on PrEP
  6. Describe updated concussion diagnostic criteria and recommended management methods.
  7. Show the UH Concussion Management Program and available resources
  8. Explain the emerging science that reconceptualizes chronic pain.
  9. Identify historic gaps and current opportunities in training practitioners to treat chronic pain more effectively.
  10. Summarize our current offering for practitioner education.
  11. Differentiate the appropriate initiation of pharmacotherapy for obesity management according to clinical practice guidelines
  12. Formulate the mechanisms of action, safety, efficacy and dosing of anti-obesity medications
  13. Discuss selection of medication based on patient characteristics and comorbidities
  14. List practical considerations, challenges and limitation of anti-obesity medications.
