About Us

Purpose

University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, through the CWRU CME program, will offer learning opportunities for health professionals to help them provide the highest value and quality of care within an inclusive environment to their patients.  These learning opportunities will be designed to help health professionals increase knowledge, competence and performance, with the intended result of improving patient care and the overall health of the community.

Content Areas

The content of CWRU CME activities reflect one or more of the ACGME/ABMS/IOM/IPE core competencies and the potential roles that a health professional might play in patient care, research, teaching and administration. The continuing professional development content will include a focus on quality, safety, inter-professional teamwork, population health, health disparities, diversity training, high reliability, and high value care.

Target Audience

All health professionals and trainees affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, including its teaching hospitals, multi-affiliate institutional partners and their systems, and alumni, are the CME Program's primary audience. Health professionals who practice in Cleveland and the surrounding communities comprise our secondary audience.  Health professionals who practice in Ohio and the Midwest comprise our tertiary audience.  Health professionals who practice in other states and countries are the final component of our target audience.

Educational Activities and Services Provided

The CWRU CME program offers AMA Category 1 credit for regularly scheduled series (RSS), live conferences, enduring materials and web-based activities. For some departmental RSS activities, MOC credit is offered in addition to CME credit.
