Overview
The "18th Annual Cardiovascular Disease Update" is a two-day event to be held on Oct 17-18, 2025, at the Tinkham Veale University Center at Case Western Reserve University. This highly-anticipated annual symposium will feature the latest treatment in every facet of cardiovascular disease. Day 1 will focus on presentations from vascular disease specialists, vascular surgeons, and interventionalists, followed by challenging case-based discussions and dinner. Day 2 is a full-day symposium with five tracks covering heart failure and ATTR amyloidosis, prevention and cardiovascular complications in pregnancy, arrhythmias and wearable technologies, interventional discussions including PERT, limb salvage, and ETOH septal ablations, and environmental effects on cardiovascular health. The event's Plenary Session will feature Dr Dariush Mozaffarian from Tufts University, who will discuss "Diet and Cardiovascular Disease: The Fight on Ultra-Processed Foods." Participants can attend either or both days. The target audience includes cardiologists, endocrinologists, cardiac and vascular surgeons, internists and family practitioners as well as advanced care providers (RNs, NPs and PAs) who direct large clinical practices and/or teach in academic medical institutions. At the end of the conference, participants will be fully capable of taking this new information back to their communities and sharing it with their colleagues.

Date & Location
Friday, October 17, 2025, 12:00 PM - Saturday, October 18, 2025, 2:35 PM, Tinkham Veale University Center, Cleveland, OH

Target Audience
Specialties - Academic Research, Cardiac Surgeons, Cardiology , Cardiovascular Imaging Specialists, Critical Care Physicians, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Family Practice, Fellows, General Medicine, General Practice, Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiologists, Nursing, Pharmaceutical, Structural Heart Specialists, Urgent Care, Vascular Surgeons, Vascular Surgery

Objectives
After attending this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Evaluate emerging device-based therapies – Describe how novel technologies such as barostim neuromodulation, cardiac myosin inhibitors, and microaxial pumps are reshaping management strategies for advanced heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and STEMI-related cardiogenic shock.
  2. Apply evolving lipid and maternal-fetal cardiovascular care insights – Incorporate new evidence on Lp(a) reduction, lipid disorders, and cardiovascular risk during pregnancy into clinical decision-making to optimize outcomes across diverse populations.
  3. Integrate wearable and digital health innovations – Utilize wearable sensors, remote monitoring, and AI-enabled digital platforms for arrhythmia detection, athletic clearance, and longitudinal cardiovascular care.
  4. Recognize lifestyle and environmental determinants of cardiovascular risk – Assess the cardiovascular impact of ultraprocessed foods, sleep disturbances, and psychosocial stressors, and implement prevention strategies targeting these modifiable factors.
  5. Implement multidisciplinary strategies for acute and preventive interventions – Apply team-based approaches for pulmonary embolism response teams (PERT), limb salvage, structural interventions for stroke prevention, and septal reduction therapies in clinical practice.
  6. Discuss evidence-based approaches across the vascular continuum – Integrate current guidelines and evolving data into the diagnosis and management of aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and venous diseases, including complex and “no-option” limb salvage scenarios.
  7. Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and techniques – Assess the role of minimally invasive and robotic vascular surgery, role of artificial intelligence in vascular care management, hybrid revascularization, and advanced interventions for carotid and venous disease to enhance procedural planning and improve patient outcomes.
