Objectives
After attending this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Classify contemporary definition and classification of aortic dissection
  2. Understand the role of connective tissue disorders in acute aortic dissection
  3. Explain indications, techniques and pitfalls of open and endovascular procedures for acute aortic dissections
  4. Interpret CT findings on acute aortic dissection
  5. Understand complexity of the malperfusion syndrome in an acute aortic dissection
  6. Describe current treatment for cerebral, coronary, visceral, and distal malperfusion
  7. Distinguish concepts of life-time management of the aortic valve disease
  8. Define indications and techniques for aortic valve sparing operations
  9. Summarize indications and techniques for Ross procedure
  10. Assess options of endovascular aortic root replacement (Endo-Bentall)
  11. Report on current concepts of endovascular and open aortic arch management
  12. Apply crucial skills for aortic repair and root enlargement, Ross procedure, Konno aorto-ventriculoplasty, endovascular and aortic arch hybrid operations
