CWRU SOM Education Retreat 2021: Diversity, Inclusion, and Education

The CWRU School of Medicine Education Retreat is open to all members of the school of medicine. This year's theme is "Diversity and Inclusion in Education". This half-day retreat offers multiple opportunities for faculty development, skill-building, networking and sharing scholarly work in education. - Plenary address - Afternoon workshop sessions - Poster sessions with short oral presentations - Recognition of teaching excellence, including preceptor awards, induction of new members into the Academy of Scholar Educators, and presentation of Scholarship in Teaching Awards (with oral presentations of selected projects)

Thursday, April 29, 2021, 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM, LIVE VIRTUAL, Cleveland, OH

1. Recognize microaggressions in the classroom and clinical learning spaces.
2. Identify at least three strategies to manage microagressions when they are recognized in the learning environment.
3. List examples of bias in curricular materials
4. Develop an inclusive approach to mentoring individuals in underrepresented groups.

Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
